Article 2 – Cookies

2.1 Use of cookies on the site

In order to make browsing on the site more fluid, to personalize certain information and to enable users to access their customer account or fill their online shopping bag more rapidly, a permanent cookie, i.e. a text file stored on the user’s computer hard disk, may be used. The primary purpose of such a file is to simplify access to the site by eliminating the need to type one’s user name and password in order to access one’s customer account.

Please note that the generation of a permanent cookie is by no means a systematic occurrence; users may freely browse the PDA website without having to create a customer account.

A session cookie is generated and installed on the user’s hard disk when the user wishes to place an order via the site. A session cookie is indeed intrinsically linked to the shopping and order process; site users are thus informed that they must accept this cookie in order to complete their order.

2.2 Information on the presence of cookies on the site

A visit to our site may generate the use of a session cookie for the purposes of statistical analysis and audience measurement. In accordance with legislation in force, visitors are informed of this fact as soon as they access the site, by means of the following message:

“By browsing our site, you hereby agree to the use of cookies to offer you the very best user experience and to enable us to compile statistics regarding visits to our site.”

Visitors are required to click “OK, I agree” to continue browsing the site. In addition, they may also click on “Find out more” in order to understand how cookies are used and learn how to manage their settings on the most widely-used internet search engines.

2.3 Session cookies used for statistical purposes

Data collected by means of permanent cookies, such as the user’s IP address, type of search engine used, operating system used and web pages visited, may be used for statistical or safety purposes in order to improve the service provided and the user experience. To this effect, Google Analytics software may be used.

For further information on the purpose and use of cookies and the associated legal constraints, users are requested to consult this page (in French) on the CNIL website:
